What is NLP ?

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) encompasses the three most influential components involved in the production of human experience, these being, Neurology, Language and Programming. Our Neurological system controls how our body functions, Language is how we communicate and interact with others and Programming is how we, as individuals, create our models of the world.

NLP originates from Richard Bandler (background in mathematics and Gestalt therapy) and John Grindler (background in linguistics), who developed it for the purpose of making explicit models of human excellence.

Most of us already use NLP techniques in everyday life as it is based on real life behaviour and looks at how we become successful at the things we do to allow us to achieve our aims and overcome our barriers.

Combined with hypnosis NLP offers a way of assisting individuals to exert more control over their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, which ultimately leads to more confidence and competence in all areas of life.

Richard Bandler (Co Founder of NLP) defines it as:

"an attitude which is an insatiable curiosity about human beings with a methodology that leaves behind a trail of techniques"
